Auto Body Detailer Position Summary: The Automotive Detailer is responsible for the cleaning of cars at the body shop after repair, maintaining safe, clean equipment, and displaying a positive, professional attitude to customers and coworkers. They are responsible for performing a complete detail cleaning of the interior and exterior on all makes and models of automobiles. This person is responsible for providing fast, accurate, high-quality, efficient service. S/he is responsible for nurturing and cultivating a positive culture and work environment that aligns with the mission and values of the organization.
Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities
- Thoroughly Clean and detail interior & exterior of vehicles both for customer delivery.
- Alert manager to any issues discovered upon cleaning that may be related to the work completed in the shop.
- Buffing and De-nibbing of paint
- Assist the refinish department with buffing/polishing of painted vehicles.
- Drives vehicle onto wheel alignment rack and tests vehicle for faulty wheel alignment, bent axel, worn ball joints, and bent steering rods.
- Occasional assists in picking up or dropping off of customers.
- Must take pride in their finished product, strive for excellence with their work, and will focus on the attention to detail that is expected.
- A continuous focus on safety; Follow and adhere to all company safety policies, rules, and training.
- Clean and maintain the detail bay daily.
Do you have the necessary education and experience?
- High School Degree or Equivalent
- Auto Body Vo-Tech certified preferred
- ASE certification desirable
- 3-5 years automotive body technician experience required.
What are the work hours?
- Regular work hours are 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Employee hours vary and are dependent on business needs.
- The position is 40+ hours per week, Monday through Friday, with evening and weekends as needed to satisfy the requirements of the position.

- Hourly, Non- Exempt: $16-$19 hour DOE
