Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Registrar & International Student Specialist.
Responsibilities: This 12-month, full-time position is responsible for supporting the Office of the Registrar, directly assisting the Registrar with functions related to registration (academic records issues), course planning process, student progression and graduation (awarding of degrees), transcripts and enrollment verifications, and coordinates all aspects of International Student Services (Admissions, Advising/Support, Programming, Administration/Coordination, Immigration Management, Liaison). Under the general direction of the Registrar, manages an essential registration function and administers the creation and maintenance of permanent academic records; assures the integrity, security, condition and access to these documents and supervises the issuance of official documents. This position is expected to handle multiple responsibilities, solve complex problems and ensure that systems and processes meet service expectations and strategic goals. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting the Registrar in key areas and in the absence of, acting as the Registrar to provide service to students and the college community with convenient, responsible, and reliable access to academic records and information. This position also provides leadership and support to other campus programs, services and events, including Alliance and Sidney campuses, which create an engaging, diverse and healthy campus experience for the Western Nebraska Community College student body.
Qualifications: Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in student affairs, college personnel administration or a related field preferred. At least one year of experience working within a Registrar's office and/or an International Student Services office preferred. Direct experience with detailed student records or documents and/or working directly with International students preferred. Prior experience serving as DSO at an institution of higher education and experience with serving international preferred. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record that does not exclude the driver from coverage under WNCC's vehicle insurance required.
Salary: Commensurate.
