Job Summary

The Utah Cancer Registry has an immediate opening for a part time Research Assistant. Working under the direction of the Research Manager, the Research Assistant is an essential member of the research team to support administrative operations and implementation of human subject's research.
This position is not responsible for providing patient care. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare and send letters and questionnaire packets to study participants and potential participants.
2. Call eligible individuals to discuss participation in research projects, including returning research paperwork.
3. Perform computer data entry of study information
4. May conduct telephone interviews with participants.
5. Works with study research staff as an effective team member.
6. human subjects research
7. Performs additional research functions and assists research team members as required.

Will be required to complete human subjects research training certification ( CITI Program) within 1 month of hire.

Nearly Continuously: Office environment.

Minimum Qualifications

One year research experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated organizational and communication skills; and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required. An understanding of research protocols and procedures preferred.

Preferences

Prior research experience and use of Microsoft Office programs, including Microsoft Access, strongly preferred. Spanish language skills are preferred but not required. Ability to work independently
