Job Summary

The Office of Student Experience is looking for a candidate who is excited to help build and grow our new department. We seek candidates with event coordination experience who understand how to build relationships and trust with partners. The Student Experience Coordinator with work across campus to develop and execute events.

We are looking for someone who loves new challenges and is eager to jump in to find a path forward. We are seeking a team player who is enthusiastic about solving problems and finds satisfaction in a job well done.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates events: including but not limited to; event goals, timeline, campus partner coordination, vendor coordination, registration management, communication, marketing, reconciliation and reporting.
  • Monitors event and program quality and assesses for improvements.
  • Troubleshoots and seeks win-win solutions to problems and challenges.
  • Understands the value of collaboration and clear communication.
  • Maintains excellent working relations across campus and with third party vendors.
  • Supports the development of event marketing materials such as web postings, emails, text alerts, printed materials and social media.
  • Contributes to departmental monthly publication, website updates and maintaining timely communication from our office.
  • This position may require evening and weekend work on campus or other locations.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and their respective details simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences
  • Event coordination experience preferred.
  • Marketing communication experience preferred, such as: web, print, email, social media.
  • Customer support experience preferred such as: via email, chat, phone.
  • Experience with project management a plus.
