Job Description:


Empire State University is currently seeking a full-time Marketing Copywriter/Content Creator (State Title: Staff Assistant) at our Saratoga Springs, NY location. The Marketing Copywriter/Content Creator will be responsible for writing clear, concise, targeted marketing content that consistently, accurately, and creatively reflects the university's brand and voice. The selected incumbent will serve as a key member of the university's marketing team and must have the ability to concept and execute creative campaigns through a variety of channels, including web, digital, print, out-of-home, and television/video. The Marketing Copywriter/Content Creator must also be able to clearly present concepts and collaborate university-wide to develop a variety of marketing materials.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Produce quality written content for a variety of media including the university's website, social media, print, video, and magazine articles.
  • Research and incorporate keywords into copy.
  • Edit and proofread copy to ensure high editorial standards are met across all content outputs.
  • Drive brand consistency across all communications by implementing university brand guidelines.
  • See projects through the whole creative lifestyle, from inception to deployment.
  • Propose engaging and targeted copy concepts.
  • Interpret creative direction and technical information and turn it into persuasive copy.
  • Work with internal clients to edit and modify copy to meet content expectations.

Requirements:


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or Communications.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate brand voice.
  • Excellent portfolio of work.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong creative thinking skills and ability to think conceptually.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working independently under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in higher education content marketing or copywriting.
  • Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English.
Special Information:
  • Position is located in Saratoga Springs, NY.
  • May involve occasional travel.

Additional Information:


Rank/Salary: SL2 / $50,000-$55,000, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
