*This is a hybrid role working remotely from your home office and on site in the St. Maries, Idaho region*
Manulife Investment Management Forest Management Inc. ("MFM") and Manulife Investment Management Agriculture Services Inc ("MAS") are wholly owned subsidiaries of Manulife Investment Management Timberland and Agriculture Inc. ("MIMTA"). MFM and MAS are property management companies that serve global institutional investors through related-party investment management groups (MIMTA) and third-party private investors. MFM oversees the timber development and harvesting operations for approximately 3.8million acres of timberland across the USA and Canada. MAS oversees the agricultural assets and operations for approximately 0.3 million acres of farmland throughout the USA. Collectively, MFM and MAS represent the North American property management platform of MIMTA.
MIMTA, founded in 1985, is a registered investment adviser and wholly owned subsidiary of John Hancock/Manulife Financial Corporation. MIMTA is based in Boston, Massachusetts and is comprised of two core businesses; Manulife Investment Management Timberland (MIMT) which develops and manages timberland investments and Manulife Investment Management Agriculture (MIMAG) which develops and manages farmland investments. As of December 31, 2018, MIMTA managed $13.3 billion of timberland and farmland, compromising over 6.0 million acres located in the United States, Canada, and Australia. MIMTA is committed to socially responsible investing and sustainable management of its client's assets, including the ongoing reduction of environmental impact, and improvement of sustainability and stewardship performance.
Overview:
Work in a team environment to plan, coordinate, supervise, and implement forest management projects and programs on 364,000 acres of highly productive and diverse forestland. The scope includes stewardship of people and the environment; outreach and education; and silviculture, harvest, transportation, and land management operations.
Responsibilities:
- The region encompasses 364,000 acres in Northeast Washington and Northern Idaho. This position will be focused on managing forest operations in Benewah, Latah and Shoshone counties, primarily in the St. Joe River basin.
- Harvest unit design, boundary delineation, environmental compliance, harvest system selection, bidding/negotiating price, contracting, contract administration, etc.
- Coordinate and manage road maintenance projects.
- Use of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and other ESRI GIS software for mapping and planning operations; including strong Excel skills for data management.
- Stakeholder relations.
- Coordinate with and assist silviculture forester on various silviculture operations.
- Support all land management activities as needed.
- Active and involved participant in the safety program.
- Develop budgets and forecasts for annual and weekly budgeting.
- Implementation of the stewardship program, including SFI.
- Support MIMTA groups such as acquisitions, client account group, etc. as needed.
- Development of property management plans, property budgets, and budget forecasts.
- Participate in all Team projects and help foster the Team atmosphere.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- BS in Forest Management or related field such as Forest Engineering.
- A teammate able to understand and work with differing personalities.
- Excellent communication, entrepreneurial, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency computer and technology skills including Microsoft Office 365.
- Knowledgeable in GIS, specifically ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS online.
- Knowledge of forest practices.
- Valid driver's license.

USA, Idaho - Full Time Remote
Salary range is expected to be between
$64,650.00 USD - $107,750.00 USD
The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
