Staff Psychiatrist
The CSU Health Network is recruiting for a Staff Psychiatrist.
The Staff Psychiatrist works as a provider of psychiatric care and reports directly to the Director of Psychiatry Services.
The Staff Psychiatrist provides care for patients with acute and chronic psychiatric conditions, including substance use problems. This position provides psychiatric assessments and management, ordering and interpreting tests and documenting care in the electronic medical records; assesses patients progress and modifies treatment plans accordingly; institutes emergency hospitalizations for patients in crisis for their safety and stabilization when needed; refers patients to the community providers when needed; provides telepsychiatry services through the phone/video conferencing if needed; and collaborates with others within and outside of the CSU Health Network to ensure that patients receive the optimal care.
This is a regular, academic year or 12-month position that may be either part- or full-time, working 20-40 hours per week. The number of hours will be identified and a regular schedule established. The annualized full-time salary is pro-rated based on the established part-time schedule. The salary is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and applicable board-certified psychiatry subspecialties. There is opportunity for additional salary if you have completed fellowships and are board certified in e psychiatry subspecialties appropriate for the Health Network, for example, Addiction Psychiatry.

Required Job Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with a subsequent specialty training in psychiatry
- Possession of a current Colorado Medical License, or the ability to obtain by the start date
- Board certification in psychiatry, or the ability to become board certified in psychiatry within two years
- Possession of a current DEA number for authorization of prescriptive privileges, or the ability to obtain by the start date
- One year of clinical experience working as a full-time Psychiatrist
Preferred Job Qualifications
- Two years of clinical experience working as a full-time Psychiatrist
- Experience working as an outpatient Staff Psychiatrist and providing consultation with medical and counseling providers
- Broad range of clinical experience that encompasses multiple diagnoses, including mood and anxiety disorders, schizophrenia and psychosis, substance use disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and trauma-informed care
- Experience caring for diverse and historically marginalized populations
- Experience or willingness to work in an integrated multidisciplinary health care setting
- Experience working with a college age / young adult population
- Experience working with an electronic health record system
- Collaborative mindset to provide consultation to psychiatry team members and other entities
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with policies of the CSU Health Network, Colorado State University, state, federal and HIPAA requirements
- Interest in the wellness of students and their family members/support systems and respect for the role of patients in the decision-making process
- Ability to analyze policies, programs, and initiatives to make recommendations for quality improvement
