BUDGET/FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING ANALYST
The Finance Department’s main goal is to provide the City Council, Manager, departments, and boards and commissions accurate, meaningful and timely financial data to be used in creating sound fiscal policy and providing full disclosure. The department establishes and maintains internal controls to protect City’s assets from loss and ensure accounting data compiled for financial statements are prepared in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles, and has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for 28 consecutive years. We seek a Finance Accountant to examine, analyze, and interpret accounting records to prepare financial statements; give advice, or audit and evaluate statements prepared by others; install or advise on systems of recording costs or other financial and budgetary data; perform work of considerable difficulty in grant, capital project and general accounting and reporting; and perform other duties as assigned. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; or any combination of related experience and training equivalent to four-year degree is required.
